Bedside Cot Reviews
A bedside crib (also called a bassinet) sits near your bed so you can safely tend to baby during night feeds and nappy changes without having to get out of your bed. They are also great for developing independence as your little one gets more comfortable in their own space to sleep.
The Joie Roomie Glide
The Joie Roomie Glide is a bedside crib that lets parents co-sleep with their newborn whilst making sure they're safe. Its smooth gliding motion is able to soothe your baby into sleep and its innovative features allow you to monitor your baby without leaving your own bed.
The cot's sliding side panel can be raised and lowered with the press of the button, making it simple to reach inside and soothe a crying baby at night. It comes with 11 height adjustments that can be adjusted to fit nearly any mattress size, and adjustable folding feet that ensure it's at the right height.

In terms of safety the cot is cushioned and fitted with mesh sides for better ventilation, while its mattress is made from high-density foam for additional protection. It's also washable which means you can keep the cot clean. It comes with a fitted mattress sheet that can be used for the crib.
The Roomie Glide, unlike some other cribs for bed, is compatible with most beds including divans. This is thanks to the clips and straps that attach it. It can also be used as a stand-alone crib even when it's not connected to the bed. It has many incredible features that were that were designed with baby and parent bonding in mind.
The most important thing to keep in mind is that even though this crib is ideal for babies, it won't last long once your little one turns six months old, so you will need to invest in a bigger cot. Overall, Roanna thought that the Joie Roomie Glide crib was an excellent buy. She loved its sleek design.
John Lewis sells the Roomie Glide for PS160. Roanna thought this was a reasonable price for a cot. She also liked the way it looked in the bedroom and believed that its grey colour will work well in modern homes. She did point out that it's not an ideal idea to rock a baby younger because it could create an unfavourable sleep pattern for later.
The Tutti Bambini CoZee
The Tutti Bambini CoZee bedside crib is designed to ensure an uninterrupted night's sleep. It features an adjustable side rail that can be easily adjusted to feed your child in the evening without disturbing them or causing them to get out of the bed. This is great for breastfeeding mothers! It's also lightweight, which makes it easy to move around the house during naps and also for travel.
It's made of soft materials and has mesh sides that are breathable to help promote airflow. It comes in charcoal or oak and various melange fabrics that blend with a variety of styles. Anna found it solid and secure when it was attached to her bed, with the legs firmly snapping into place and the zips secure to ensure baby safety. It took her about 10 minutes to put together and did not require tools, and comes with clear instructions and a video or support number available if you encounter any problems.
As well as the usual features you'd expect from a crib for your bed that include the ability to attach to your existing bed using a stay-in-place connector system and six levels of height, the CoZee has an additional incline option which can be used to aid congestion or reflux in infants. It can also be washed in the machine and is a must for all the dribbles, vomit, and snot that come with a newborn baby!
The CoZee is a great option if you want to keep your child close during the first six months of learning to fall asleep independently. It can be used as a cot, changing station and toddler bed. With the addition of a sofa bed extension pack, it could be transformed into a crib. While it won't magically put your baby to sleep or feed them, it will rock the baby and take them to school.
The Chicco Next2Me Magic
This is one of the more expensive alternatives. However, foldable bedside crib comes with many amazing features. It's designed to be used as a side sleeper or a standalone crib, and is suitable for babies up to six months. It's easy to open and close the side panel thanks to a new mechanism. It's also more flexible than its predecessor with 11 different height levels as well as retractable feet for a secure fit under any bed.
Our testers appreciated the ease of access offered by the side panel, which can be moved upwards and downwards with just a single push of a switch. This was particularly useful at night, as they could reach in and pick up their baby without disturbing them up.
It is possible to lower the side panel by itself, but this isn't recommended as it increases the risk that your baby will be thrown out of the cot. However, the patented safety locking mechanism ensures that it can only stay down when attached to the parent's bed correctly. This feature can be very beneficial for peace of mind if you are breastfeeding and need frequent night feeds.
Telescopic legs permit the Chicco Next2Me Magic to be used with any bed, such as divan bases as well as beds with drawers. It also comes with a tilting function to help babies who are refluxy and a rocking mode that can help them sleep after feeding. It's also extremely spacious and offers great ventilation due to its mesh sides.
Our test subjects found the Next2Me Magic easy to set up and use, although it does come with an extensive instruction manual. It's a bit heavier than other side-sleepers but it's easily moved from one room to another. It can also be folded into a travel bag which is ideal if you want to transport it. The only thing our test subjects found was that the side panel didn't move as much as other models. This caused it to be a bit more difficult to see the baby from your bed.
The Shnuggle Air
The Shnuggle Air bedside crib is a great choice if you want an infant crib that will grow with your child. It's designed to be a sleep-co-sleeping bassinet that is attached to your bed and convert into a stylish cot once your baby is ready, it's perfect for night-time feeds and growing your bond with your baby.
The Shnuggle Air crib is designed to breathe, which is different from other models. The mesh side panels with dual-view as well as the hypoallergenic, breathable airflow mattress increase airflow and keep your baby comfortable and cool. A gentle incline helps to ease colic and reflux, while the zip down side allows you to feed or comfort your baby throughout the night.
The cot conversion kit is also well designed, with clear instructions. It includes everything you need. It took us around an hour to put together and was fairly simple to put together. The only drawback to the instructions was that certain images were not captioned. This made it difficult for us to follow the instructions. However, it was a straightforward process and the quality of the materials used was excellent.
The Shnuggle Air is a great choice for mothers who are nursing or have had an e-csection. It allows them to reach out and hold their baby to comfort them and feeding without having to leave their bed. It's also great for mothers who prefer not to go through the difficulty of getting in and out of a traditional cot, or placing their child down to sleep.
The motion of gliding was found to be extremely helpful in lulling babies into sleep following feedings at night or midday. The drop-down sides make it easy to feed or soothe babies during the night. This was a big selling point for our exhausted moms who took part in our tests. While it doesn't rock or have extra features such as a sound system the Joie Roomie Glide's elegant design and practicality are a welcome addition to our best bedside crib reviews.
